Apple has announced Siri AI, a completely rebuilt version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence.

The new assistant brings conversational interactions, personal context awareness, onscreen understanding, and the ability to answer questions using information from the web. Apple says Siri AI can help users find information across messages, emails, photos, and apps, while also taking action on their behalf.

The announcement comes after Apple faced criticism over the rollout of Apple Intelligence and previous Siri improvements, with some promised features arriving later than expected and others failing to match the capabilities offered by rival AI assistants. While Apple Intelligence introduced several new features over the past year, many users felt the experience lacked the major Siri overhaul Apple had originally envisioned.

Apple says Siri AI has been rebuilt from the ground up with a new architecture designed around Apple Intelligence. The assistant can understand personal context, answer questions about content currently on screen, and access up-to-date information from the web. Users can also continue conversations across devices through a new dedicated Siri app that syncs conversation history using iCloud.

Apple is also expanding Visual Intelligence, bringing visual search capabilities to iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The company has integrated new writing tools into Siri AI, allowing users to generate, edit, and refine text throughout the operating system.

Siri AI is available for developer testing starting today and will launch in beta later this year on supported Apple Intelligence devices.
