Apple has announced that iOS 13 will officially be released to the public on Thursday, September 19th 2019.
iOS 13 was first unveiled in June at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference. The software, which has received numerous developer and public beta updates since it was first previewed adds a handful of new features and improvements over iOS 12, Apple’s current-generation software for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Apple is launching an all-new Dark Mode with iOS 13 which works across the system, a new swipe-style keyboard called QuickPath, a redesigned Photos and Reminders app, enhancements to the Maps and Music apps, a “FaceTime Attention Correction” feature which uses ARKit to automatically refocus and reposition a user’s eyes during a FaceTime call to make them appear as if they are looking directly into the front-facing camera, and much more! – Here’s everything new with iOS 13.
iOS 13 sees Apple give iPad its own dedicated operating system called “iPadOS”, meaning that from now onwards iOS updates will be reserved specifically for iPhone and iPod touch. iPadOS, the first iPad-specific OS has been developed to offer users a more intuitive iPad experience, allowing Apple to offer iPad-exclusive features, although for the most part iPadOS 13 inherits all the flagship iOS 13 features.

Additionally, Apple touts that with iOS 13, users can expect to see applications launch up to twice as fast as they do now with iOS 12, and that Face ID will be even quicker and authenticating a user’s face to unlock the device and make purchases using Apple Pay.
