iPad mini 7 expected to bring minor spec-bump update

Apple is rumored to be preparing a new seventh-generation iPad mini for launch in the not too distance future, with an insight from a leaker suggesting that the update could be nothing more than a minor spec-bump, with the new device seeing an improved chip and nothing much else.
As reported by AppleInsider, a post on X, formally Twitter, by @Tech_Reve claims that Apple’s next iPad mini, the iPad mini 7, will feature an improved Application Processor (AP), with the new chip expected to be the only thing new with the refreshed model.
Apple’s current iPad mini features the A15 Bionic chip, which first made its debut with the iPhone 13 series, iPhone SE (3rd generation), iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and Apple TV 4K (3rd generation).
The new rumor aligns with claims made by respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested late last year, that a new iPad mini could launch in 2023, adding that the upgrade will be minor over the current-generation model, reporting that the next-generation will likely only feature a spec improvement through an upgraded chip.

At the time, Kuo said he expected mass shipments for the new device to start by the end of 2023 or in the first half of 2024, although no further details were shared on what to expect from the next iPad mini, which last received a major overhaul including a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, an all-screen design, A15 Bionic chip, Centre Stage, 5G, and more.
