iOS 27 adds perimenopause and menopause support to Apple’s Cycle Tracking

Apple is expanding Cycle Tracking in iOS 27 with dedicated support for perimenopause and menopause, including symptom tracking and notifications designed to highlight potentially significant changes in cycle patterns.
Users will be able to tell the Health app that they are in perimenopause or menopause, allowing Cycle Tracking to adapt its experience and provide more relevant information as their health needs change.
For those in perimenopause, the app can be used to monitor symptoms and cycles over time. Apple is also introducing cycle deviation notifications that take perimenopause into account.
Users aged 40 and over may receive a notification when changes in their logged cycle patterns could be suggestive of perimenopause, giving them information they can choose to discuss with a doctor.
Apple is adding another safeguard for users who have recorded that they are in menopause. If bleeding is subsequently logged, the Health app will display a notification advising the user to speak with their doctor.
The update also includes educational articles and clinically informed tips intended to help users better understand perimenopause and menopause.
Cycle Tracking already supports features covering different stages of reproductive health, including period logging and retrospective ovulation estimates. Apple says the latest expansion is intended to allow the experience to adapt as users’ health priorities change over time.
The changes arrive with iOS 27 as Apple makes a wider push into health and fitness, including a redesigned Health app with Apple Intelligence-powered insights, Health Age and new longevity features.
Apple notes that Cycle Tracking should not be used as a form of birth control.
