How to find one lost AirPod when you still have the other

Losing a single AirPod does not necessarily mean replacing the whole pair. Apple’s Find My network can help locate an individual earbud separately.
Open the Find My app on your iPhone and tap Devices, then select your AirPods. Depending on the model and its location, Find My can show where the missing AirPod was last detected or provide tools to help locate it nearby.
If your AirPods are separated, Find My may initially show the location of only one. Put the AirPod you still have into its charging case, then refresh the map to look for the missing one.
Use Find My to locate the missing AirPod
Open Find My, choose Devices and select your AirPods. Follow the location shown on the map. If the missing AirPod is nearby and supported, use the available Find or Play Sound option to narrow down its location.
Keep the AirPod you already found inside the case while searching so that Find My can focus on the other earbud. Available finding features vary by AirPods model.
If the missing AirPod is offline or has no battery, Find My may only be able to show its last known location rather than a live position.
Apple sells replacement individual AirPods and charging cases for supported models, so losing one earbud does not automatically require buying an entirely new set.
