iPhone 18e rumored to keep familiar design with A20 chip and 48MP camera

Apple’s next lower-cost iPhone could look very similar to the current iPhone 17e, with a new rumor claiming the biggest upgrade will be the move to Apple’s A20 chip.
According to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 18e is expected to feature a 6.12-inch 60Hz LTPS OLED display, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, and Apple’s A20 processor. The leaker also suggests Apple could upgrade the front camera to 24 megapixels.
The report was highlighted by AppleInsider, which notes that the rumored display specification would leave the iPhone 18e broadly unchanged from the previous generation in size and refresh rate.
The biggest difference would therefore be inside. The A20 chip is expected to use a 2-nanometer process, potentially improving both performance and efficiency compared with the A19 used in iPhone 17e.
The single 48-megapixel rear camera would also continue Apple’s strategy of keeping the e-series clearly separated from the standard iPhone lineup, while the possible 24-megapixel front camera would be a more meaningful change if the claim proves accurate.
The Apple Post has previously detailed what to expect from iPhone 18e, including reports that the device will launch in spring 2027 alongside iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.
