New iPad mini is thinner, lighter, and comes in just two colors

Breaking News Apple has given the new iPad mini a slimmer design, cutting the body to 5.4 mm while keeping the compact footprint that has defined the lineup.
The redesign also trims the bezels by 24 percent, allowing Apple to increase the display size to 8.5 inches without making the tablet larger overall.
Apple says the new model is both thinner and lighter than the previous-generation iPad mini, making it easier to hold one-handed and carry around.
The color lineup is more restrained, with just two finishes available at launch: midnight and starlight.
The slimmer enclosure also now carries an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, despite the reduced thickness.
The design changes form part of the biggest iPad mini update Apple has announced, alongside OLED and A20 Pro.
Apple revealed the new dimensions and finishes in its official announcement.
