Apple is reportedly preparing to announce a new iMac and updated MacBook Pro models as soon as ‘the end of this month,’ with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claiming on Sunday that he expects a Mac-centered product launch to take place on either the 30th or 31st of this month.
In his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday, Gurman says sources have said that Apple is planning a product launch before the end of October ahead of the iPhone maker’s quarterly earnings report on November 2.
According to Gurman, Apple is planning to announce a new 24-inch iMac and updated MacBook Pro models, although specifics on what to expect from the new machines weren’t shared.
The insight follows after Gurman claimed in March that a new 24-inch iMac was at an advanced stage of development called engineering validation testing, or EVT, and the company was conducting production tests of the machine before it started mass production this summer.
Gurman has previously reported that Apple’s next iMac could feature a new M3 chip, marking the first upgrade to the iMac in over 900 days.
Apple last updated its MacBook Pro lineup in January, with Gurman saying “an additional update the same year would be unusual, but not inconceivable.”
