Apple launching new iPad mini this year, according to report

Apple is working on a new seventh-generation iPad mini that could launch as soon as later this year, according to a new report DigiTimes, which claims that iPad shipments are expected to increase towards the end of the year when the iPhone maker launches “a new small-size iPad in the fourth quarter.”
Rumors about an updated iPad mini have been sparse, although after redesigning the model in late 2021, it seems Apple is now readying a new model, which will likely be available in time for the holidays.
Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested late last year that a new iPad mini could launch in 2023, saying the upgrade will be minor over the current-generation model, reporting that the next-generation will likely only feature a spec improvement through an upgraded chip.
At the time, Kuo said he expected mass shipments for the new device to start by the end of 2023 or in the first half of 2024, although no further details were shared on what to expect from the next iPad mini, which last received a major overhaul including a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, an all-screen design, A15 Bionic chip, Centre Stage, 5G, and more.
