Apple almost released super-sized 14-inch iPad this year, device now seemingly postponed

Apple almost released its largest ever iPad this year, although no such iPad is now in the iPhone maker’s imminent product pipeline, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who reports that Apple “got close” to releasing an all-new 14-inch iPad model this year.
Writing in his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday (via MacRumors), Gurman claims that Apple almost released a 14-inch model, in what would have been the biggest iPad to date. The super-sized model has been rumored for several years, although plans may have now been postponed, or even cancelled.
The device would tower above the existing largest iPad, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and would likely be targeted towards creatives, who could use the larger canvas with Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, which are now both available for the iPad.
Separately, Gurman has claimed that Apple is working on an all-new Magic Keyboard for its next-generation iPad Pro which, for the first time on a Magic Keyboard, the top case — the area around the keyboard itself — will be aluminum, matching the recent design of MacBooks, giving the iPad a Mac-like aesthetic whilst also giving the keyboard a sturdier structure.
Unlike the super-sized 14-inch iPad, it is understood that the new Magic Keyboard is still under development and likely will be released alongside Apple’s next iPad Pro update.
