Trustworthy leaker says new AirPods ready to ship

As rumors point to Apple hosting an event to launch new products on March 23, a previously accurate leaker has claimed the next-generation AirPods, dubbed “AirPods 3” are ready to ship, suggesting that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro could outsell the 11-inch model in 2021.
Leaker “Kang” claimed on Friday in a post to Chinese social media website Weibo that as soon as the new model’s ship, Apple will likely discontinue the current-generation AirPods that are sold either with or without a wireless charging case.
After renders claimed to show the design of Apple’s AirPods 3 earlier on Wednesday, a separate leaker tweeted an alleged real-world image of Apple’s next-generation earbuds. It is believed that the forthcoming AirPods will inherit the design of the AirPods Pro, supposedly featuring silicone ear tips, touch controls that replace the single and double-tap controls, and more.
