Images show unreleased iPad hardware, possibly the rumored iPad mini 5
Unreleased iPad hardware has been photographed and shared on Twitter today, possibly giving us our first glimpse at the rumored next-generation iPad mini 5.
As spotted by 9to5Mac, the images show very few design changes compared to the current iPad mini hardware, with the exception of a new antenna band that forms the shape of a rounded rectangle, unlike the current iPad mini – the iPad mini 4 – which has a similar antenna design, but the rounded rectangle is filled in with plastic.
The leaked images don’t match up with the supposed iPad mini 5 case shared over the holidays which suggested the new tablet would feature a vertical camera similar to the iPad Pro, a center microphone and a cutout on the side possibly for a Smart Connector.
Asides from the new antenna band, the iPad hardware looks to have everything the current model has, including a headphone jack, side volume controls, Lightning connector, two speakers along the bottom, and so forth.
