New images claim to show what appears to be a case for Apple’s rumored next-generation iPad mini 5.
Shared by Slashleaks over the holidays, the three images claim to give us a relatively good idea of what to expect from the alleged iPad mini 5. The case shows room on the rear for a vertical camera similar to the iPad Pro, a center microphone and a cutout on the side possibly for a Smart Connector, meaning the tablet could be compatible with a Smart Keyboard.
Judging by the images the fifth-generation iPad mini will keep the headphone jack which was removed from Apple’s line of iPhone hardware in 2016. The device will most likely have a four-speaker arrangement, but its unknown whether it will charge via a Lightning cable or through USB-C.
As with all ‘leaks’ its best to take this with a pinch of salt. It’s impossible to verify whether or not the case shown in the images are genuinely for a fifth-generation iPad mini, or if Apple has plans to release an update to its iPad mini line at all.
