Apple HomeView could sound better than HomePod mini 2

Apple’s upcoming HomeView smart home hub could offer better sound quality than the new HomePod mini 2, making the countertop version more than simply a display for Siri and smart home controls.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the HomeView’s audio performance will exceed that of Apple’s refreshed HomePod mini, which is also expected to be unveiled at the October 13 “Welcome home” launch.
The comparison is particularly notable because HomeView’s countertop model is reportedly built around a metal speaker base beneath its display.
HomeView could double as a more capable room speaker
Apple is expected to offer two HomeView designs. The countertop version combines its screen with an integrated speaker base, while a separate model is designed to mount on a wall.
Better audio than HomePod mini 2 could make the countertop HomeView a stronger all-in-one option for kitchens, bedrooms and shared living spaces, where music playback and voice interaction would sit alongside visual information and Home controls.
The new HomePod mini itself is reportedly receiving a substantial internal upgrade with an S10 chip and support for Apple’s newer Siri experience, so Bloomberg’s audio comparison suggests Apple is positioning HomeView above its smallest speaker rather than treating the base as a secondary feature.
The Apple Post’s October 13 preview covers how HomeView, HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected to work as part of Apple’s broader push into the smart home.
HomePod mini 2 is reportedly due to reach stores on October 30, while HomeView is expected to follow around the middle of November.
