iPad Pro could gain vapor chamber cooling in 2027

Apple is reportedly planning to bring vapor chamber cooling to a new iPad Pro in 2027, giving the company’s highest-end tablet a more advanced way to manage heat during sustained workloads.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the next major iPad Pro update could add a vapor chamber as Apple looks to improve thermal performance.
The technology would allow heat to spread more efficiently through the thin tablet chassis, potentially helping the iPad Pro maintain performance for longer under demanding tasks.

Vapor chambers use a sealed internal system to move heat away from hot components across a wider area. The approach is particularly useful in thin devices where conventional cooling options are limited.
For iPad Pro, better thermal management could matter during workloads such as video editing, 3D applications, gaming and other sustained tasks that keep the processor under heavier load.
Bloomberg’s report places the change within Apple’s 2027 iPad roadmap rather than the company’s remaining 2026 product launches.
The iPad Pro update is expected alongside other changes across the tablet family, including an OLED iPad Air and new entry-level iPads during 2027.
Apple’s final processor choice, launch timing and whether the vapor chamber will appear across every iPad Pro size remain details for a later date.
