iPhone Air 2 could be even thinner despite bigger battery

Apple could make the iPhone Air 2 even thinner than the current model while also increasing its battery capacity, according to a new report.
Korean Naver blogger yeux1122 claims the second-generation iPhone Air will be around 0.4mm thinner than its predecessor. With the current iPhone Air measuring 5.6mm thick, that would put the new model at approximately 5.2mm.
The same report says Apple is planning a higher-capacity battery for the thinner design, potentially allowing the company to improve one of the biggest compromises associated with the ultra-thin iPhone without making the device thicker.
iPhone Air 2 could address two key compromises
The Apple Post has previously reported that Apple is expected to improve battery life with the iPhone Air 2 while retaining the lineup’s thin and light design.
The next-generation model is also expected to gain a second rear camera, with reports pointing to a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera joining the existing Main camera. Together, the changes could address two of the most notable limitations of the first-generation iPhone Air while allowing Apple to push the design even further.
iPhone Air 2 is expected to launch in spring 2027 alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e as part of Apple’s new split iPhone release schedule.
