Apple’s new smart home hub reportedly called HomeView

Apple’s new display-equipped smart home hub will reportedly be called HomeView when it is unveiled as part of the company’s “Welcome home” product launch on October 13.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to use the HomeView name for the device, giving the company’s new smart home hardware its own identity rather than extending the HomePod or iPad brands.
The name also provides a clearer picture of how Apple intends the product to be used: as a glanceable display and voice-driven control point positioned around the home.
HomeView puts the display at the center
For months, Apple’s home hub has often been referred to unofficially as “HomePad,” reflecting reports that it would combine elements of an iPad and HomePod. HomeView now appears to be the name Apple has chosen for the finished product.
The branding surfaced shortly before the October 13 event through trademark activity potentially connected with Apple. Bloomberg’s latest reporting now describes the device directly as HomeView.
That “View” branding fits the reported interaction model. The HomeView is expected to be controlled primarily through Siri while presenting information on its screen that can be viewed from across a room. Touch input will still be supported when users are close to the device.
Apple is expected to sell both countertop and wall-mounted versions, making the display useful in different rooms and positions rather than treating it as a conventional tablet.
The Apple Post’s October 13 event preview covers the wider home lineup expected alongside the new hub, including refreshed Apple TV and HomePod mini hardware.
The final branding is expected to be made official during Apple’s October 13 “Welcome home” announcements in New York.
