Apple releases watchOS 27 with Siri AI, dynamic app grid and new gestures

Apple has released watchOS 27, bringing Siri AI, a new dynamic app grid, additional gestures and expanded health and fitness features to compatible Apple Watch models.
The update can be installed through the Watch app on a paired iPhone by selecting General and Software Update, or directly from a compatible Apple Watch through Settings.
Siri AI is one of watchOS 27’s biggest additions, bringing more natural conversations and richer responses to Apple Watch. A dedicated Siri app also lets users revisit previous conversations from their wrist.
Apple has redesigned the app grid so frequently used apps are easier to reach, while a new single-tap gesture can open a Smart Stack widget using one hand.
Workout Buddy receives new insights based on fitness data, giving users more context around their activity and training. Cycle Tracking also adds support relating to perimenopause and menopause.
The update continues Apple’s wider rollout of Siri AI across its devices, although availability and individual features can depend on the Apple Watch and paired iPhone being used.
watchOS 27 was first previewed at WWDC26 and has been in beta testing throughout the summer. Apple released the final Release Candidate last week ahead of today’s public launch.
