Siri AI stuck on waiting list in iOS 27? Here’s what you can do

Installing iOS 27 does not necessarily mean Siri AI will become available immediately. Apple is using a waiting list for access, and some users may find themselves waiting while others appear to get the new Siri experience sooner.

If your iPhone still says you are on the waiting list, that alone does not mean the activation process has failed. Apple has not published a guaranteed timeframe for moving users through the queue.

The Apple Post previously reported on the Siri AI waiting list introduced with iOS 27, which allows Apple to gradually expand access to the new experience.

What to check if Siri AI appears stuck

First, make sure your iPhone is running the latest available version of iOS 27. Software updates can include fixes and changes affecting Apple Intelligence and Siri, particularly during the rollout of new features.

Next, check that your iPhone is compatible with the Apple Intelligence features required by Siri AI and that your device and Siri languages are set to supported options. Regional availability can also affect whether particular Apple Intelligence and Siri features can be activated.

If Apple has already granted access and Siri AI appears to be downloading or preparing rather than showing the waiting-list message, the issue may be the on-device models rather than the waiting list itself.

Apple says Apple Intelligence models begin downloading after the required software is installed, with download times varying. Apple recommends keeping the iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and power while the models download.

It is therefore worth leaving the iPhone connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network and charger, particularly if Siri AI has been approved but is not yet ready to use.

Available storage can also matter. Apple’s current Apple Intelligence requirements call for free on-device storage for its models, so an iPhone with very little space remaining may need storage freed before everything can download correctly.

If you are genuinely still on the waiting list, however, there may be nothing to fix. Repeatedly leaving and rejoining the queue is unlikely to provide a shortcut, and it is better to keep the existing request active unless Apple specifically prompts you to take action.
