Apple’s September 9 event is expected to be packed with new hardware, but several products that have appeared in recent rumors are more likely to remain offstage this week.
The clearest omission is the standard iPhone 18. Apple is widely expected to delay the regular model until spring 2027, alongside the iPhone 18e and second-generation iPhone Air.
The Apple Post recently reported on the expected change to Apple’s iPhone release schedule, which would leave the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone Ultra as the company’s main fall launches.
An Apple Watch SE 4 is also not expected this year. Current reporting points to updates for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 instead.
Several Macs are believed to be coming before the end of the year, but they are unlikely to share the stage with Apple’s new iPhones. Rumored products include an M6 MacBook Pro, updated iMacs and other Mac refreshes that could arrive through a separate event or press releases later in the fall.
An OLED iPad mini is another product expected soon but not necessarily on Wednesday. Recent reports have pointed to an October launch for the updated tablet.
As reported by MacRumors, Apple’s September event is expected to stay centered on iPhone, Apple Watch and possibly AirPods rather than becoming the launch point for every product Apple has planned for the rest of 2026.
More ambitious products are even further away. Camera-equipped AirPods, a major Apple Watch redesign and other future hardware have all appeared in reports, but are not expected to be ready for this week’s keynote.
Apple could still surprise viewers with one or two additional announcements, particularly around the home, but expectations remain strongest for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, iPhone Ultra, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.
