How to add section links in Notes on iPhone with iOS 27

Apple Notes in iOS 27 makes it easier to navigate long notes by letting you create links that jump directly to individual sections.
Section links are particularly useful for lengthy notes containing multiple headings, such as project plans, travel itineraries, meeting notes or reference documents. They can also be used to create a simple table of contents at the top of a note.
The feature works with headings and subheadings already included in your note, allowing you to turn selected text into a shortcut to another part of the same note.
How to add a section link in Notes on iOS 27
- Open the Notes app on your iPhone.
- Open the note you want to add a section link to.
- Make sure the destination section has text formatted as a heading or subheading.
- Select the text you want to turn into a link.
- Open the editing menu and tap Add Link.
- Choose Link to Section.
- Select the heading or subheading you want the link to open.
- Choose whether to keep your selected text or use the section title for the link.
Tapping the finished link takes you directly to that section of the note. You can repeat the process with several headings to build a table of contents for larger notes.
