iOS 27 to add new “Create a Pass” feature to Wallet app, report says

Apple is reportedly working on a new feature for the Wallet app in iOS 27 that will let users create their own digital passes from real-world items like tickets and membership cards.
The Apple Post reported on this last month, revealing that Apple was exploring a way to bring non-supported passes into the Wallet app by scanning physical items such as concert tickets, movie passes, and gym cards.
Now, Bloomberg has shared more details, saying the feature will be called “Create a Pass.”
According to the report, users will be able to tap the “+” button in the Wallet app and scan a QR code from a ticket or pass to add it digitally. If no QR code is available, users will also have the option to manually create a custom pass.
The feature is designed to fill a long-standing gap in the Wallet app, which currently only supports certain types of passes from supported partners.
Text within the app suggests the feature will work with a range of items, including event tickets, memberships, and gift cards. Apple is also said to be introducing three different pass categories, each with its own color: purple for events, blue for memberships, and orange for other types of passes.
Users will reportedly be able to customize their passes with different images, colors, styles, and text, giving them more control over how they appear in Wallet.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27 at WWDC in June, where it will likely preview the new Wallet features alongside its broader software and AI updates.
