Apple surpasses 1.5 billion paid subscriptions as Services business continues to grow

Apple has announced that it now has more than 1.5 billion paid subscriptions across its ecosystem, marking another major milestone for the company’s growing Services business.
As Kif Leswing reports for CNBC, Apple disclosed the figure alongside its fiscal third-quarter 2026 financial results, where the company also reported more than $30 billion in Services revenue, up 12% year over year.
CEO Tim Cook said Apple has now exceeded 1.5 billion paid subscriptions, a significant increase from the 1 billion subscriptions the company reported three years ago.
The total includes subscriptions to Apple’s own services, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple News+, iCloud+, and the Apple One bundle. It also includes subscriptions to third-party apps purchased through the App Store, where Apple receives a share of eligible subscription revenue.
Apple said the Services business continued to grow during the quarter, with strong performance from the App Store, advertising, AppleCare, Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud, and its payment services.
The milestone underlines the increasing importance of Services to Apple’s business. While products such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac continue to generate the majority of Apple’s revenue, subscriptions have become an increasingly valuable source of recurring income and help strengthen the company’s ecosystem.
Reaching 1.5 billion paid subscriptions also represents significant growth over the past three years, demonstrating continued demand for both Apple’s own services and the subscription-based apps available through the App Store.
