iPhone 17 introduces landscape selfies without rotating your phone

Apple’s new iPhone 17 line-up features a redesigned front camera that lets users take landscape selfies while holding the phone vertically.
The Center Stage camera debuts the first square front sensor on iPhone, offering a wider field of view and up to 18MP resolution. Apple says it captures more detail and creates a more natural look.
The change means users no longer have to rotate their device. Photos and videos can be taken in portrait or landscape with the phone held upright, making it easier to keep a secure grip and a centered gaze.
For group shots, Center Stage can automatically expand the frame and switch between portrait and landscape to ensure everyone fits in.
Apple’s 2025 line-up includes the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
All four are available to pre-order from Friday, September 12, with deliveries beginning on Friday, September 19.
