Kuo suggests Apple Vision Pro ‘will sell out soon after the release’ due to limited launch stock
Apple’s all-new mixed-reality headset, Apple Vision Pro, is set to open for pre-orders in the US this Friday. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the headset is poised to sell out shortly after its release. While initial observations may suggest a surge in demand, Kuo attributes the potential sellout to limited stock availability at launch.
In a report on Thursday, Kuo suggests that Apple is planning to produce between 60,000 and 80,000 Apple Vision Pro units for the launch of the device, which will likely lead to initial stock selling out quickly after pre-orders open.
Apple unveiled its new $3,499 Apple Vision Pro headset last year, made from a singular piece of three-dimensionally formed laminated glass with an aluminum alloy frame that curves to wrap a user’s face. The device features an array of advanced cameras and sensors that work together to enable the mixed-reality experience, and speakers are positioned close to a users ears to deliver Spatial Audio to create life-like three-dimensional environments.
The new Apple Vision Pro headset runs a software called visionOS, which is heavily inspired by macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. visionOS features a brand-new three-dimensional interface controlled by a person’s eyes, hands, and voice. Users can browse through apps by simply looking at them, tapping their fingers to select, flicking their wrist to scroll, or using voice to dictate.
