TestFlight data breach sees terabytes of game betas and prototypes from 2012 to 2015 leaked
A substantial data breach originating from Apple’s TestFlight has resulted in the online exposure of terabytes game betas and prototypes from 2012 to 2015.
The leak, dubbed the “teraleak” due to its sheer size, includes unreleased titles, among them several “Angry Birds” games that never reached the App Store. Additionally, the collection features apps that were once available on the App Store but were subsequently delisted, such as “Infinity Blade,” reports Eurogamer.
TestFlight is a platform developed by Apple that allows developers to beta test their applications before releasing them to the public on the App Store. It serves as a tool for developers to distribute pre-release versions (beta builds) of their apps to a limited group of testers for testing and feedback purposes.
It appears that files from Apple’s servers have been discovered in archives accessible through the Wayback Machine and subsequently shared anonymously on X (formerly known as Twitter).
As of now, Apple has not issued any official comments on the reported data breach involving TestFlight. Additionally, there has been no response or statements from any developers associated with the affected data.
