‘iPad Air 5’ with 5G, Center Stage camera, A15 chip and more rumored to launch in spring
Apple is rumored to be releasing an updated iPad Air in spring, featuring 5G connectivity, the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage support and more, according to Japanese blog MacOtakara.
The report suggests that the new iPad Air will inherit many of the features of the iPad mini, claiming that sources in China have indicated that the new device could be launched alongside Apple’s rumored new 5G iPhone SE 3 which is slated to be announced at Apple’s first special event of the year in either March or April.
MacOtakara suggested last year that Apple’s next iPad Air could get a new dual-camera system similar to the iPad Pro, although it remains unclear if those rumours will come true, with the Japanese blog casting doubt on their previous report within this latest insight.
Apple last updated the iPad Air in September 2020 when the iPad Air 4 was announced, featuring a full redesign including an all-screen 10.9-inch display, new Touch ID power button, USB-C connectivity, A14 Bionic chip and Space Gray, Silver, Green, Rose Gold, and Sky Blue color options.
