Apple supplier Luxshare to begin iPhone 13 production this month, report claims

Chinese manufacturing company Luxshare Precision is expected to begin iPhone 13 production this month according to a report from Nikkei, which claims Luxshare will produce 3% of the upcoming iPhone 13 series, winning orders away from Taiwanese rivals Foxconn and Pegatron.
According to the report, Luxshare, who produce the Apple Watch and AirPods for Apple, will handle iPhone 13 Pro production, responsible for the assembly of the high-end models expected to be announced next month.
The report reads: “Newcomers to the Apple supply chain normally start out making older iPhone models. Two companies that Luxshare acquired last year, South Korean camera module maker Cowell and metal frame maker Casetek of Taiwan, will also supply key components and parts for this year’s new iPhones, sources familiar with the matter said.”
