This is what the iPhone 13’s smaller notch will probably look like
With several reports suggesting that Apple’s next iPhone will feature a shrunken notch, images shared on Twitter over the weekend from DuanRui, originally sourced from Weibo, claim to offer a side-by-side comparison of Apple’s current TrueDepth camera system and the one rumored to be launching with the iPhone 13.
This is, in fact, not the first time alleged iPhone 13 front glass has leaked offering a glimpse at what the smaller notch design will probably look like. Last month, we saw images of what was said to be front glass panels for all of Apple’s upcoming iPhones, showing a visibly smaller notch with a repositioned earpiece, suggesting the speaker will be integrated into the device’s top bezel.
The leak was followed up last week when DuanRui posted images of what was said to be “film samples” for the next-generation iPhone, again offering a look at what we can likely expect to see this fall.

Before that, we saw videos of dummy models and several reports backing up the claims that Apple will reduce the size of the TrueDepth camera and sensor system, with the latest claiming the notch will reduce in width from 34.83mm to 26.80mm.
Apple has long been rumored to be reducing the size of its TrueDepth camera and sensor system, which houses the technology that powers Face ID, with a leak last year showing alleged schematics for the iPhone 12, which Apple appears to have considered launching a smaller notch with, but ultimately opted not to.
The design of the iPhone maker’s TrueDepth camera system has remained unchanged since it first launched with the iPhone X in 2017.
