Case for new 11-inch 2021 iPad seen at Target
With rumors pointing to Apple hosting an event on March 23rd to unveil new products, a case for an unannounced 11-inch iPad has been spotted in American retailer Target, with the in-store POS systems reportedly showing the product as unavailable to purchase until early April.
Shown in a photo uploaded to Reddit, the Speck accessory shows on the box that it is compatible with the iPad Air (2020), iPad Pro 11″ (2018-2020) and an as-yet-unannounced “New iPad 11″ (2021).”
The Reddit user, nanosplitter21, who spotted the case, reportedly tried to buy it however, at the point of purchase the store system showed an error, flagging up that the product cannot be sold until April 6.
This isn’t the first time accessories for unannounced Apple products have appeared in retailers ahead of their launch. Best Buy, for example, started stocking cases for a new “4.7-inch 2020 iPhone” last March, which turned out to be for the new iPhone SE, which launched the month later.
AirTags, iPads, AirPods, iMacs — Here’s what Apple could announce in March
March could see the arrival of an updated iPad Pro, expected to feature a new mini-LED technology that will offer the device the same quality display as if it were OLED but with less power consumption.
Alleged CAD renders of Apple’s two new iPad Pros leaked in January, suggesting that the new hardware won’t feature any major design changes, pointing to the mini-LED display being one of the main differentiators between it and the previous model.
Rumors have also suggested a new iPad mini could be on the cards for a March launch, featuring a larger 8.4-inch display with the same Touch ID Home button and design as the current model.
