New 13-inch MacBook Pro launching later this year, followed by all-new 14-inch model in 2021
Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his forecast for Apple’s future MacBook Pro lineup following the announcement last month that the Cupertino tech giant will be releasing new custom-designed silicon processors in their Macs starting later this year.
According to Kuo, a redesigned 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with a form factor similar to the current 13.3-inch MacBook Pro could be Apple’s first ARM Mac, set to launch before the end of the year.
The machine will be a stopgap until the arrival of an all-new 14-inch model, says the TF International Securities analyst, with an updated 16-inch machine launching together in early 2021, featuring new mini-LED display panels.
Kuo’s research note suggests we may see a slight price decrease in the future models, possibly due to Apple no longer having to source its processors from Intel. No specific machines or price points were noted.
