Apple to release ‘iPhone SE 2’ in early 2020, featuring iPhone 8 design and A13 processor
Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed Apple will release an ‘iPhone SE 2’ in early 2020, featuring an iPhone 8-style chassis and up-to-date internals.
Kuo’s report follows after Taiwan-based Economic Daily News claimed in April that Apple was working on a successor to the iPhone SE, reporting at the time that the new device would launch in March 2020 with a similar design to the one found on the iPhone 8 – an A13 chip, a single-lens rear camera, and a 128GB storage option priced at $650.00.
The report from Kuo doesn’t touch on pricing for the new handset, but the previous-generation iPhone SE started at $349 for a 32GB storage configuration.
Apple’s rumored new device would likely feature a 4.7-inch LCD display and Touch ID home button.
Kuo predicts Apple could ship 30 to 40 million units across 2020, with Apple likely to discontinue the iPhone 8, currently available starting at $449, alongside the launch of the new hardware.
