Apple Arcade likely to be priced at $4.99/month after free trial
Last week, it was reported that Apple had opened a private early access program that allows employees to use Apple Arcade, the soon-to-be-released pay-monthly gaming subscription service. Now, a report claims Apple will price the service at $4.99/month after users end their one-month-free trial of the platform.
According to 9to5Mac.com, a promotional message found in one of the APIs used by the App Store app claims Apple Arcade will be $4.99 per-month when a user ends their free trial period.
Apple Arcade was unveiled in March alongside Apple Card and Apple TV+. It has been previously reported that Apple was spending ‘several million dollars’ to secure deals and develop more than 100 games, with Apple’s total spend on the service around $500 million dollars.
So far, Apple is yet to share an official release date for Apple Arcade though, the service is expected to launch alongside the public release of iOS 13 in September.
