Apple launches Apple Arcade early access program for employees, priced at $0.49
Ahead of the launch of Apple Arcade, Apple’s soon-to-be-released pay-monthly gaming subscription service, employees are now able to join a private early access program which offers cut-price $0.49 membership to the platform prior to its launch expected to coincide with the public release of iOS 13.
As shared by 9to5Mac.com, screenshots offer a sneak-peak at Apple Arcade on Mac which highlights games such as “Sneaky Sasquatch”, “Kings of the Castle”, “Frogger in Toy Town” and “Lame Game 2” which will be part of the 100 titles expected to be available on the service at launch.
Apple Arcade was unveiled in March alongside Apple Card and Apple TV+. It has been previously reported that Apple was spending ‘several million dollars’ to secure deals and develop more than 100 games, with Apple’s total spend on the service around $500 million dollars.
Notably, the screenshots (below) say the internal test will end with the launch of iOS 13. We’ve never previously had official confirmation as to when Apple Arcade will launch, though it has always been expected in fall.
