Analysts claim Apple will offer free AirPods with the premium iPhone 8 that will feature an edge-to-edge display
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 is building itself up to be one of the most anticipated iPhone releases of all time, and the latest research note published by analyst JP Morgan adds to the anticipation by claiming Apple will offer free AirPods with the premium iPhone 8, music to the ears of many who are eager to get their hands on Apple’s wireless earbuds.
The report which weighed in on the speculation about what we can expect from this year’s iPhone 8, iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S claimed that the flagship iPhone 8 will feature an edge-to-edge display, a dual-lens camera on the rear, improved waterproofing, enhanced speakers around the front.
JP Morgan is one of many analysts who claim Apple will be forced to relocate the Touch ID sensor from the front of the phone to the back due to issues embedding the sensor into the OLED edge-to-edge display. The research note doesn’t pack any new, previously unreported news regarding the iPhone 8 however, the mentioning of free AirPods is something that hasn’t so far been mentioned and is causing a stir with many.
While at first the thought of free AirPods may sound exciting, it also does raise many eyebrows for a number of different reasons. Asides from JP Morgan’s mixed track record, due to the high price point of AirPods and the shortages in supply, it’s unlikely Apple would just give away these desirable items.
Neither the less, it’s certainly an added extra iPhone owners would love to see when unboxing their device. Let us know what you make of JP Morgan’s claim in the poll below.
