Apple to debut low-cost AirPods later this year, reports analyst
Apple is once again rumored to be working on new low-cost AirPods, with analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research suggesting that the earbuds could debut in late 2024 as manufacturers are slated to ramp up AirPods assembly at a factory in India in the fourth quarter of the year.
As reported by MacRumors, Pu claimed in a research note sent to investors that a Foxconn subsidiary will be one of the suppliers of the lower-cost AirPods, which have been rumored to feature a new design with a lower starting price compared to the current-generation $169 third-generation AirPods.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported earlier this year that Apple is working on two new fourth-generation AirPods models, with the earbuds expected to launch in September or October this year.
Gurman claimed that the new models will feature an updated design with better fit, improved sound quality, and a new charging case with a USB-C port.
