Apple has rolled out a new version of firmware to AirPods, fixing small bugs with the wireless earphones
Apple has quietly pushed an updated version of firmware to customers using AirPods, fixing small bugs with the wireless earphones. Version 3.5.1, from 3.3.1, is automatically installed when the ear-pods are in their charging case and paired to a device.
AirPods users haven’t’ been issued with notice that the updated firmware is being installed; the user has to manually check if their earphones have been updated by checking the AirPods firmware version number in Settings on an iPhone or iPad.
1) Ensuring your AirPods are paired correctly with an iPhone or iPad, open Settings on your device and go to → General → About. From here, scroll down until you see a label named AirPods.
2) Once the AirPods label is shown (only if AirPods are connected), tap on the AirPods button and check if you’re running version 3.5.1.
