How to give your child extra Screen Time in iOS 27

When a child needs a little longer to finish something, iOS 27 lets parents extend their access from the redesigned Screen Time controls rather than making a permanent change to their normal limits.
The option is useful when an app limit or scheduled restriction would otherwise interrupt something a parent is happy for the child to complete. Extra access can be granted while keeping the family’s usual Screen Time rules in place.
Parents can manage these controls from their own device when their child’s account is configured within the family.
How to extend your child’s Screen Time in iOS 27
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Select Screen Time and choose your child.
- Open the relevant Screen Time restriction or request.
- Choose the option to extend your child’s access.
- Select or confirm the additional time you want to allow.
The temporary extension gives your child additional access without requiring you to remove or permanently increase their normal Screen Time limits.
