How to change alarm volume separately from ringtone volume in iOS 27

iOS 27 gives iPhone users separate volume controls for alarms and the ringtone, making it possible to keep incoming calls quiet without also reducing the volume of alarms.
The setting is particularly useful if you lower your ringtone volume at night but still want alarms and timers to remain loud enough to hear. Apple also provides a similar independent control for alerts and system sounds.
Once the volumes are separated, changing your ringtone level will no longer automatically change the volume used by standard alarms and timers.
How to set a separate alarm volume in iOS 27
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Sounds & Haptics.
- Find the Alarms and Timers section.
- Turn off Match Ringtone Volume.
- Use the volume slider that appears to choose how loud you want alarms and timers to be.
You can return to the previous behaviour at any time by switching Match Ringtone Volume back on. Alarms that provide their own individual volume control, including certain wake-up alarms configured through a Sleep schedule, continue to use their own setting.
