How to use Ask to Browse in iOS 27 to approve websites for your child

Apple gives parents another way to control the websites their children can access with Ask to Browse in iOS 27, extending the idea behind Ask to Buy to browsing the web.
When Ask to Browse is enabled, a child can request permission when they want to visit a new website in Safari. The parent receives the request and can decide whether to approve access, helping families gradually expand what a child can access online.
Ask to Browse works across iPhone, iPad and Mac, making it useful for families whose children use more than one Apple device.
How to use Ask to Browse in iOS 27
- Make sure your child is using a Child Account and is part of your Family Sharing group.
- Open Settings on your iPhone and go to your family’s parental controls.
- Select your child and open the controls for web access.
- Enable the option that requires permission before accessing new websites.
- When your child tries to access a website that requires approval in Safari, they can send an Ask to Browse request.
- Review the request on your device and choose whether to approve access.
Once approved, your child can access the website according to the permissions you have chosen. Parents can continue adjusting web access as their child gets older or their needs change.
