iPhone 16e uses Apple’s first cellular modem, the C1

Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16e, marking a significant milestone with the introduction of its first custom-designed cellular modem, the C1.
The C1 modem is designed to deliver fast and reliable 5G connectivity while being the most power-efficient modem ever in an iPhone. This efficiency contributes to the iPhone 16e’s battery life, with Apple claiming it offers the best battery performance of any 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11. The tight integration between the C1 modem and Apple’s A18 processor allows for optimized performance, touts Apple, especially in scenarios like congested network conditions, where the processor can prioritize time-sensitive data for a more responsive user experience.
Apple announced the iPhone 16e on Wednesday, featuring the A18 chip with support for Apple Intelligence, a 48MP 2-in-1 camera system, an Action button, satellite features, and more, starting at $599.
iPhone 16e will be available in white and black in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage capacities, starting at $599 (U.S.). Pre-orders begin Friday, February 21, with availability starting Friday, February 28 in 59 countries and regions, including the U.S., UK, Canada, and Australia.
