Apple announces next Apple Intelligence language expansion coming in April

Ahead of the release of iOS 18.2, Apple has announced that localized English support for Apple Intelligence will expand to Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K. today. Additional languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, will roll out throughout the year, with the first batch arriving in an April update.
Apple Intelligence is Apple’s suite of AI technologies integrated into iPhone, iPad, and Mac. One feature, Image Playground, allows users to create unique images by adding themes, costumes, and accessories, or generating images based on photos from their library. These images are produced in various styles, such as Animation and Illustration.
Apple Intelligence also introduces Genmoji, a personalized emoji feature. Users can create Genmoji by typing descriptions or using photos of friends or family. These can be customized with accessories and used inline in messages or as stickers.
Writing Tools help users refine text with AI assistance, adjusting tone and improving content.
For iPhone 16 series users, a new Visual Intelligence feature allows the camera to identify objects, provide information about nearby stores, read text aloud, and perform image searches.
In the coming months, Apple Intelligence will expand further. Siri will become more personalized, offering tailored intelligence based on a user’s context. It will also gain onscreen awareness and the ability to interact with more apps. Priority Notifications will highlight important updates, and Image Playground will add a new Sketch style for more detailed, realistic drawings.
