Apple has unveiled its latest software updates and released the first betas of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2 for developers to test following the WWDC24 keynote today.
Registered developers can access these betas by opening the Settings app on their devices, navigating to the Software Update section, selecting “Beta Updates,” and enabling the Developer Beta option. An Apple ID linked to a developer account is necessary to download and install the beta, but even free developer accounts are eligible for this access.
It’s advisable not to install early betas on a primary device due to potential significant bugs. If you decide to test the software, it’s best to use a secondary device and always back up your data beforehand.
In the coming months, Apple will continue to refine these features through several beta versions before the official public release, expected around September.
Currently, these betas are developer-exclusive, but Apple usually releases a more stable public beta in July.
