‘No hardware slated to be announced at WWDC,’ says Gurman

Apple isn’t expected to unveil any new hardware at its forthcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who says that he doesn’t expect any new devices to be announced alongside the unveiling of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, macOS 15, and visionOS 2.
Writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman says “There’s no hardware slated to be announced at WWDC, unless Apple unexpectedly previews a new device launching later (to be clear: I don’t expect that). The company updated the iPad in May, and the new iPhones, AirPods and Apple Watches aren’t arriving until September.”
“There’s also no new Vision Pro coming anytime soon, and the AirTag 2 isn’t due to arrive until next year,” he writes. “A new Apple TV isn’t imminent either, and the M4 Mac range isn’t coming until the fall.”
WWDC is typically a software-focused event, although that hasn’t stopped Apple from making some major hardware-related announcements at the event. Most recently at last year’s keynote, the iPhone maker unveiled Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s first-ever mixed-reality headset, alongside a new 15-inch MacBook Air, new Mac Pro and new Mac Studio.
