Apple could make Apple Vision Pro-related announcement ‘in the next week or so’
Apple is widely expected to release its first-ever mixed-reality Apple Vision Pro headset in either late January or early February, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggesting that the iPhone maker could make a special announcement in the next two weeks, likely to confirm the exact launch date for the upcoming wearable.
In his weekly Power On newsletter on Sunday, Gurman says that internally, Apple is planning to have enough supply stateside by the end of January for a launch by February, with the device allegedly shipping in small quantities to warehouses across the US before distribution to Apple retail stores.
In his report, Gurman said “I expect Apple to make an announcement related to the Vision Pro in the next week or so to take some of the spotlight away from CES,” which begins Tuesday in Las Vegas.
The upcoming announcement could see Apple confirm the exact launch date for the Apple Vision Pro headset, which will be available in the US only at launch. Following the launch, it has previously been suggested that Apple Vision Pro will launch in the UK and Canada in late 2024.
Apple’s new Vision Pro mixed-reality headset blends digital content with the physical world through a fully three-dimensional user interface controlled by a user’s eyes, hands, and voice.
Built on the foundation of macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, visionOS is a new operating system that delivers spatial experiences for the Apple Vision Pro headset. visionOS features a new three-dimensional interface that makes digital content look and feel present in a user’s physical world.
