Elon Musk says X (Twitter) will soon only offer dark mode

Elon Musk has claimed that X (Twitter) will soon only offer dark mode, with the platform seemingly planning on removing the regular light mode, saying dark mode “is better in every way.”
Rather than making dark mode default and offering users the option to switch between appearances, Musk said on Thursday “this platform will soon only have ‘dark mode’. It is better in every way,” causing concern over the accessibility aspect to X’s upcoming change.
The planned dark mode takeover is the latest change made to the platform since Elon Musk’s turbulent acquisition of Twitter last year, which has seen loosened content moderation, controversial changes to its verification system, a focus on paywalling features such as TweetDeck, and the recent introduction of rate limits, which cap how many tweets users can read.
