Apple planned AirPods in five different colors but canceled them at last minute

Apple originally planned to release its OG AirPods in five different colors but canceled plans at the last minute, according to Apple collector @KosutamiSan on Twitter, who says the earbuds were planned to come in Pink, (PRODUCT)RED, Purple, Black and Blonde, but were scrapped prior to the release of the iPhone 7.
The collector, who is known for their collection of Apple prototypes, shared a picture on Tuesday showing an unreleased version of AirPods in a gloss finish, similar to that of the original white AirPods.
It isn’t clear why Apple decided to cancel plans for the colored AirPods, with the collector saying the plans were dropped close to launch.
Apple used to release color version of 1st gen AirPods, they planned to make Pink, ProductRED, Purple, Black, Blonde.
Reason of that: they wanted to match the color with iPhone 7. (Purple version of iPhone 7 cancelled at last)

The insight comes after the collector said on Monday that Apple considered colored versions of its MagSafe Charger for iPhone, similar to the colored MagSafe Charging cables for the MacBook Air.
