Apple factory hiring staff to assemble iPhone 15, paying $400 joining bonuses to new employees

Foxconn, Apple’s primary iPhone manufacturer, is beginning its annual hiring ramp-up as it prepares to begin mass production of the iPhone 15, with the company paying joining bonuses to new employees at its Zhengzhou factory to attract new staff to manage busy iPhone assembly lines.
The South China Morning Post reports that new employees will be entitled to receive bonuses of up to 3,000 yuan (US$424) for at least 90 days of work at the factory, while drawing an hourly pay of up to 21 yuan.
Existing workers at the factory can obtain a referral bonus of 500 yuan, according to the post.
Foxconn’s Zhengzhou facility, which can house some 200,000 workers, will play a key role in manufacturing the iPhone 15, which is expected to be unveiled in the fall.
