iPhone 16 Pro to get larger screen and periscope lens, according to Kuo

Apple is rumored to introduce a new periscope lens with the iPhone 15 Pro series later this year, although only the largest 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to gain the new telephoto camera technology , with the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro missing out on the lens until the arrival of the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024, according to respected TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to Kuo, the rumored new periscope camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro will likely be exclusive to the largest 6.7-inch model, leaving out the 6.1-inch Pro model before Apple brings the periscope capabilities to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in 2024.
Kuo suggests that with the iPhone 16 Pro next year, Apple will increase the size of the device to accommodate the new telephoto camera technology, although no further details were shared.
The introduction of a periscope camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max would see Apple compete with the growing number of smartphone manufacturers who are already bringing periscope capabilities to their devices, including Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra that offers up to 10x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.
