iPhone 15 Pro rumored to come in new dark red color option

Following recent renders based on an alleged leaked iPhone 15 Pro CAD model giving us our first glimpse at what to expect from Apple’s next Pro-series iPhone, a follow-up report today has suggested that Apple could launch the iPhone 15 Pro in an all-new dark red color option, likely replacing the deep purple option in the current iPhone lineup.
According to 9to5Mac, which claims to have received a tip from an unnamed source, Apple is planning a new dark red color option for the iPhone 15 Pro, with the regular iPhone 15 lineup expected to feature new light blue and pink colour options, although it is noted that the information is still early and could change.
Last week, renders shared by 9to5Mac suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro will feature thinner bezels, a new curve design, USB-C, and more.
The renders were allegedly based on CAD files provided by “a reliable case manufacturer,” similar to those distributed by Apple to case manufacturers ahead of mass production of the devices themselves, with the model offering new details on the upcoming 2023 flagship.
As many rumors have suggested, the models suggest Apple will replace the Lightning Connector on the iPhone 15 series with USB-C, with Zelbo’s renders suggesting the new device will have change to the curvature of the edges, both on the glass and on the metal frame compared to the iPhone 13 Pro.
According to the site, “the glass curves slightly around the edges, creating a more seamless transition to the frame. The frame itself is also more curved than before, resembling the design of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and new M2 MacBook Air. This could make the phone more comfortable to hold and less prone to accidental touches.”
The CAD files show that the camera bump on the back is also thicker than before, indicating that Apple may have upgraded the camera system with new sensors or lenses.
As rumors have suggested, the models hint that the iPhone 15 Pro will feature solid-state volume buttons, although this cannot be confirmed based on the renders alone.
